Chattanooga, TN — 2/7/17  World Floor Covering Association (WFCA) has announced the annual winners of the Gold Standard Award, which recognizes stores that have created an outstanding consumer retail experience. The Gold Standard Award was given in two categories based on sales volume: Over $10 million and Under $10 million.

In the category for retailers with sales over $10 million, Carpetland USA in Davenport, Iowa took home third place. Eric Langan, owner of nine Carpetland USA retail locations in Iowa and Illinois, was honored with three-months tuition to WFCA University online. His locations in Iowa are in Burlington, Cedar Rapids, Clinton, Dubuque, Davenport and Waterloo and Galesburg, Moline and Sterling in Illinois.

To be considered, applicants had to complete a multiple-page submission form and present multimedia marketing materials and other collateral that is factored into the review process.

Scott Humprey, CEO of WFCA, said, “The WFCA believes in giving recognition where recognition is due. That’s why we recognize and reward excellence in our retailer community with our Gold Standard Award.  The annual award is given to one exemplary business and two runners-up that have well demonstrated the standards of a WFCA member and created an outstanding consumer retail experience.”

Jon Logue, co-CEO of Alliance Flooring, said, “Eric Langan has done a super job with his nine stores and is very deserving of this recognition. He is highly regarded among our members and is a great example of how to run successful retail flooring stores. We’re proud he’s in our group.”
